Second Day at Manila - negotiate

There were some things happened with me in Manila.

Case 1:
Pooh and I went to "Pizza Hot" yesterday for dinner. It was okay...consider this is a poor country, I cant expect anything. We ordered one mango juice, one Philp. bear, one regular pizza (so small), salad (so small and bad quality), and one corn cream soup (the cookie in the soup is not as good.) Then we went to drug store, funny! they only have soap, thet dont sell body cream soap. (We only found the baby once.) ps: All the bottles are soo small. (It made me thought about one thing, almost all the phillp. people like to use a green bottle, it contains alcoho, they use it to clean they hands. Anyway, back to my main story. On the way when we back to our hotel (not really a hotel, we rent a room there.), my pooh stoped at place which has two philp. people selling some fake DVDs. RIght away, I know those were from China, they sell one DVD for P120 (about CAD $ 2.8). Pooh and I all decided to buy one to try first, and he told me to use my negotiate skill. Well, finally, we got one DVD, P 95. After we got back, pooh told me that I shouldnt said "please" to them. (It was my habit to say that word every time when I negotiate.) Ya, maybe I shouldnt say that word since they are living in a third country. I felt bad last night. Also, I was trying to debat P100 and P 95, pooh told me their P5 just our CAD$ 0.11. Why am I arguing for P 5?! er...ya...everything my pooh said was a big shock to me, I felt guilty yesterday and keep thinking if it is right or wrong.

This morning I slept in. My pooh went for work in the morning. The DVD is working fine, and we watched "Green Mile". I dont even feel bad anymore. The reason is that, compare to Taiwan, I think it is just every country. You never know what they are thinking. Sometime it could be that they are tricking you. Especially those DVDs were from China, I am sure that China sold those DVDs even more cheaper. If I wanna think that I just pity them, yes, I could pay them the price they want, but why do I want to pity them?! There are some Phillp. people still rich. Today, I think I feel better with the environment here.

When my pooh came pick me up from the hotel, I stepped to outside again, suddenly, I felt there's nothing I should be scared about and worried about. I think Philp. people are still friendy and kind. Maybe they dont really have rules here, they are poor, so?!

Case 2:

We went to a place which sells many cell phone stuff and can help you unlock the cell phone there. Yes, my pooh told me to negotiate again. This time is a big time. I spent all my energy negotiate. Used many ways, and of course got a little frustrated as well. A lot people looked at me; a lot people looked at my pooh's wallet; I also think a lot people also know I am a tourist. Well, totally we spent about CAD$ 60 on three cell phones unlock plus two phillp. #s, and plus one load (so we can call out.) I guess this is a good deal eh~

After that, we went to a popular chinese restaurant, called "Chowking". It is like a fastfood place. I think the food is much better than the hamberger store yesterday.

About my way of against their air polluion here. Yes, it was very bad. My face started to have some stuff on it. I guess my face is very sensitive. Then I used my expensive "Shiseido" stuff, wahahha! My face is good again!
